Zen Calligraphy, Shodo, or Zenga (the Art of Enlightenment) is both beautiful art and a subject for deep meditation. Using words that inspire the state of the awakened mind, the characters are painted to express this state of mind in the moment they are painted.
In this gallery, you will find calligraphy using English (Roman) characters. It took me over three years to develop a style of calligraphy using English characters that were as beautiful and expressive as those written in Japanese. What you see here are the results of that journey. I'm very happy with it. I hope you are too.
